Area Crime Rates and Safety Information
At JZ Academy, student safety is a top priority. We want all current and prospective students to feel informed about the area they will be studying in.
Our school is located in Utah County, which includes the cities of Orem, Provo, and Lindon. These cities are known for being generally safe and family-friendly, with violent crime rates significantly lower than the national average.
OREM
Approximately 100,000 residents. Violent crime is low (about half the national average). Property crimes such as vehicle break-ins or theft do occur, so we encourage students to lock vehicles and secure belongings.
PROVO
About 120,000 residents, including many university students. Violent crime is low. Property crime can be slightly higher near student housing areas, so basic safety precautions are advised.
LINDON
Smaller community of around 12,000 residents. Very low violent crime rates and fewer property crimes overall.
All three cities have professional police departments, community safety programs, and responsive emergency services.
We encourage all students to practice simple safety habits—stay aware of surroundings, secure personal property, and report anything suspicious.
